Adrien Brody and John Cusack have signed on to join the cast of Dragon Blade. Blade is a period action film that will be going into production in China. The film is one of the most expensive ever in China.
Variety reported that the film will be helmed by Jackie Chan who will be playing a commander of the protectorate of the western region. He will be teaming up with the other characters in order to protect China's borders.
Cusack will be playing, Lucius, a Roman general who is leading a group of soldiers into China. Brody will be playing opposite Cusack as a Roman Consul Crassus who is chasing after Lucius along with 100,000 troops with him, Empire Online added.
It has been confirmed that the budget on this film is around $65 million, which makes it one of the top three most costly Chinese films of all time.
The movie is being directed by Daniel Lee and the film is already in production at the Hengdian World Studios. The project is getting ready to relocate to parts of the Gobi Desert for on location filming.
The film currently does not have a set plan or distribution for the United States.
