Jonathan Quick stopped 32 shots for his second career Stanley Cup Final shut out. The Los Angeles Kings take 3-0 lead in the series, moving within one game of winning the Stanley Cup for the second time in three years.

The first period was very fast paced, with just four stoppages in the twenty-minute period.

Jeff Carter opened the scoring with less then a second left in the period. It was his tenth goal of the playoffs. Justin Williams and Slava Voynov had the assists. This was the first time the Kings have led in the Finals, even though they were up 2-0. Carter’s shot it from around 15 feet in front of the goal and the puck hit off of the tip of Dan Girardi’s skate blade, ricocheting into the goal.

The second period was penalty ridden with six penalties, three from each team.

The Kings were able to take advantage on the power play to take a 2-0 lead at 4:17 of the second period. Jake Muzzin scored his sixth goal of the playoffs with assists from Anze Kopitar and Marian Gaborik. It was Kopitar's 21st assist of the playoffs; he is the league’s leading scorer in the playoffs.

Rick Nash had a scoring opportunity at the 11:53 mark, but instead drew a hook from Drew Doughty. This led to the Rangers third PP chance of the game and they had several scoring opportunities. Jonathan Quick made several spectacular saves, but his best was a stick save off of a rebound by Derek Brassard.

The Rangers had many opportunities in the third period, but they could not find the back of the net. There best scoring chance happened at the seven-second mark of the third period. Chris Kreider took a pass off of the face off and raced in on Quick. Quick was able to make a save to keep the Kings up 3-0.

The Rangers pulled goalie Henrik Lundqvist with 4:21 left in the game. The Rangers could not do anything with the extra-man advantage, getting zero shots in that time period.

The Rangers outshot the Kings 32-15 in the game.

The Rangers would be the second team to come back from a 3-0 deficit, NHL senior writer Dan Rosen Reports. The 1942 Toronto Maple Leafs are the only team to have done it in the Final. NHL.com.

Game four is on Wednesday and is scheduled for 8 P.M. ET.
