A judge has set the trial date for Aaron Hernandez.

Fox Sports reports the trial is scheduled to take place for one to two months, beginning on October 6.

On June 17, 2013, semipro football player Odin Lloyd was killed early in the morning. He was dating Hernandez’s fiancee’s sister. Two other men have also been charged in the murder.

The decision came after a hearing where the defense tried to have the murder charge dismissed, as well as a plea to toss evidence that was found from Hernandez’s home surveillance.

Other motions the defense attempted to block included testimony from Alexander Bradley, who accused Hernandez of shooting him after a dispute in a nightclub. It is believed that a Glock pistol was used to kill Lloyd.

The judge has not yet made a ruling on the motions. Prosecutors contend there is plenty of evidence to support the murder charge.

Boston reported Hernandez also faces charges from an assault on an inmate in prison, as well as threatening a corrections officer.

Hernandez entered a not guilty plea.
