Kanye West blasted famous celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz for backing out of doing his wedding photos with Kim Kardashian a day before they tied the knot. The rapper claims that Leibovitz was “afraid of celebrity,” even though she shot the couple’s famous Vogue cover.
Kanye was speaking at the Cannes Lions panel in France on Tuesday, where he lashed out at the famous photographer. The panel was on technology and the discussion turned to their famous wedding photo, the most-liked post in Instagram history.
According to Page Six, Kanye said that his wife was “exhausted” by the time the wedding rolled around because they spent days perfecting the lighting and the floral wall behind them. But then Leibovitz pulled out just before the wedding. “I think that she was, like, scared of the idea of celebrity,” Kanye said of Leibovitz.
The Yeezus rapper said that it took four days to get the flowers right and even though Leibovitz left, he told her replacement to make it look Leibovitz-esque.
“Because Annie pulled out, I was like, ‘Okay, I still want my wedding photos to look like Annie Leibovitz,’ and we sat there and worked on that photo for, like, four days because the flowers were off-color,” West explained.
The image of Kim and Kanye kissing in front of the floral wall has earned over 2.29 million likes and 35,000 comments. The couple finally tied the knot on May 24 in Florence, Italy.
