Kevin Hart’s “Think Like a Man Too” topped the box office this weekend. While the comedian is enjoying the movie’s success, he got into a more serious mode when talking about his first marriage.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Hart explained why his first marriage failed.

“When people get married young, you don’t really understand the true definition of marriage,” Hart said.

Hart and his first wife, Torrei, got married when they were around 24-years-old.

In 2011, the couple divorced after eight years of marriage and having two kids together.

Hart wasn’t afraid to be honest, saying that he wasn’t the best person during his marriage, reported the Huffington Post.

“When I was married, I definitely went through a lying period. I just turned into a liar, but you learned from your mistakes,” Hart said.

Although divorced, Hart remains in his kids' life and is good friends with his ex-wife.

Hart said the divorce changed him into a better man.

"Being that guy once upon a time has helped me develop into the man I am now, and I approach relationships in a completely different manner," Hart said.

Hart has long moved on since his divorce.

He is currently dating Eniko Parrish with whom he has been with for more than four years.
