Kristin Wiig will be working again with Bridesmaids co-writer, Annie Mumolo, for a new film that will be Wiig’s directorial debut.
Kristen Wiig previously got an Oscar nomination for Best Original Screenplay for Bridesmaids, and shared her nomination with Mumolo, according to Nolo.
Mumolo recently wrote a movie about Joy Mangano, the woman who developed the Miracle Mop. The new film will be about best friends who find themselves “in over their heads and out of their depths,” according to Deadline. The new comedy will be distributed by TriStar Pictures, and Wiig will be directing this film.
Wiig has had a busy year, and will star with Bill Hader in the movie, The Skeleton Twins, which premiered at Sundance earlier this year. In terms of her work as an actress, she is known for her work on Saturday Night Live. She was also in the film, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, and Hateship Loveship. She was also a writer on a TV movie called SNL Presents: A Very Gilly Christmas and Confessions of a Tooth Fairy.
