Lana Del Rey already tried to distance herself from her ‘I wish I was dead already’ comment, but Frances Bean Cobain has still warned the “West Coast” singer against romanticizing death. Cobain’s father, Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, died at age 27.
Cobain wrote a series of tweets directed at Del Rey, some of which were already deleted. “I’ll never know my father because he died young,” she wrote, notes Faster Louder. “It becomes a desirable feat because ppl like u think it’s ‘cool’ Well, it’s f***ing not. Embrace life, because u only get one life.”
She continued, “The ppl u mentioned wasted that life. Don’t be 1 of those ppl ur too talented to waste it away.”
Later, Cobain tried to clarify her statements, saying that she wasn’t attacking Del Rey, notes TheWrap. “I'm not attacking anyone. I have no animosity towards Lana, I was just trying to put things in perspective from personal experience,” she wrote.
@LanaDelRey ur too talented to waste it away.

The comments follow Del Rey’s now infamous Guardian interview, in which she was quoted as saying, “I wish I was dead already.” Del Rey tried to distance herself from the comment, saying that she “regrets” trusting the paper. The interviewer, Tim Jonze, was later puzzled by the tirade and posted an audio clip from the interview to prove that she did say that.
