Lady Gaga is known for pushing the envelope, but when she enlisted rapper R. Kelly and photographer Terry Richardson to make her “Do What U Want” video, she pushed farther than even she’s willing to go. The video was never officially released, and months after Gaga’s tirade about it, we’re finally learning the real reasons.

The video was apparently supposed to be released back in December. When that month went by without it, Gaga went to her site to lash out, complaining that she was “betrayed” and “mismanaged.” Well, she was definitely mismanaged by whoever signed off on the idea.

According to a New York Post source, the video had Kelly as a doctor and Gaga as his patient. “Will I ever be able to walk again?” Gaga asks him. “Yes, if you let me do whatever I want with your body...I’m putting you under, and when you wake up, you’re going to be pregnant,” Kelly responds. That’s definitely not the image of doctors Gaga’s young fans should have.

“Gaga had a video directed by an alleged sexual predator, starring another sexual predator,” the source told the Post. “With the theme, ‘I’m going to do whatever I want with your body’? It was literally an ad for rape.”

In addition to the video being in incredibly poor taste, both Kelly and Richardson faced controversies at the time the video was supposed to come out. Kelly’s sexual assault case was back in the news and Richardson has been consistently accused of sexual misconduct with models. (Richardson denied the claims in a NYMag profile this month.)

Although the “Do What U Want” video will never see the light of day, TMZ did obtain a 30-second clip that was supposed to be released as a promo and it is very NSFW.
