Lana Del Rey decided that she doesn’t want to engage in a Twitter battle with the daughter of one of her heroes, Kurt Cobain. On Monday, Del Rey told Frances Bean Cobain that “it’s all good” after Cobain warned the Ultraviolence singer against wishing for an early death.
As previously reported, Cobain was responding to Del Rey’s comments made in a Guardian interview, in which Del Rey said, “I wish I was dead already.” Cobain, whose father died when he was just 27, told Del Rey, “It becomes a desirable feat because ppl like u think it’s ‘cool’ Well, it’s f***ing not. Embrace life, because u only get one life.”
Cobain said she wasn’t trying to attack anyone, but just giving a warning to someone she thinks is talented. Del Rey later took to Twitter to respond directly to Cobain.
“It's all good. He was asking me a lot a out your dad I said I liked him because he was talented not because he died young,” Del Rey explained. “The other half of what I said wasn't really related to the people he mentioned/ I don't find that part of music glam either.”

Del Rey herself tried to distance herself from the comments, saying that she regretted trusting the Guardian. In a series of now-deleted tweets, Del Rey said, “I didn't want to do an interview, but the journalist was persistent.”
That journalist, Tim Jonze, posted an audio clip from the interview, proving that Del Rey did say those frequently quoted comments. Perhaps Del Rey’s response to Cobain is her way of admitting that she said them in the first place.
