Lebron James says he will be okay with the result of tonight's Game 5 of the NBA Finals, win or lose.
In a story published by USA Today News the four-time MVP seems to be content with where he is in life as a person, and will not let the result of tonight's game change that.
The Heat are down 3-1, and James is facing what would be his third loss in five trips to the NBA Finals, his second loss in his four years with the Heat. James boastfully said when he and Christ Bosh signed with the Heat back in the summer of 2010 that he would win "not five, not six, not seven" championships while in Miami. While James was implying that the Big 3 would win more than that, it still looks like James is correct.
The Heat are an aging team, and nobody besides James has played well through the first four games of the Finals. Rumors have circulated that Knick's all-star forward, Carmelo Anthony, could be joining up with Dwayne Wade, Bosh, and James in Miami, according to a report by USA Today News
"The sport is the greatest sport in the world. I love it. It's done so many great things for me, but it's just basketball. It's just basketball." Said James according to USA Today's article. This is the type of quote that might make the casual basketball fan admire James more as an off the court figure, for his ability to keep things in perspective.
However, it will not help James in his comparisons to Michael Jordan, which have been around since James first wore Jordan's number 23 with the Cavaliers. Jordan is so competitive it is a character flaw. In his Hall of Fame speech, Jordan called out every person who doubted or slighted him someway in his incredible career that included six NBA championships and five MVPs.
