The youngest golf, Lucy Li, who qualified into the U.S. Women’s Open didn’t quite make the cut. The 11-year-old golfer may not have won but she has learned a lot from the experience and has plenty of memories to take with her.
Li managed to get two birdies on Friday; one being where she scored a triple bogey on Thursday. Over all, it wasn’t enough for the young player who scored a 16-over-par 156 over two days. Li said that, if anything, she learned patience from the experience according to San Jose Mercury News. Li signed over 100 autographs and became a golfer princesses but she’s not letting the fame get to her. Li’s free sprite and happy attitude won over the crowd more than her golfing skills.
Li is thankful for the people she got to play against and her caddie, Bryan Bush. Bush looked over Li through the past two days and continued to be amazed by her. He was proud of how she came back from her triple-bogey with a par and a birdie says USA Today.
Li isn’t done playing this year. Coming up in July she has the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links on the 14.
