Angelina Jolie continues to shine as her film Maleficent, which reveals all in the untold story of Sleeping Beauty’s evil queen, has become Jolie’s largest success to date.
Over this past weekend Disney’s film earned over $520 million worldwide beating her prior record of $478.2 million with her film Mr. & Mrs. Smith reports Entertainment Weekly. In addition this record makes this film Disney’s most successful live-action film ever.
The Hollywood Reporter notes that the film has remained in the top five for its fourth weekend in a row. Maleficent has also passed Oz the Great and Powerful which had earned itself $493.3 million in 2013.
While the popular tale has been succeeding in several parts of the world, the film has yet to premiere in certain countries, which will bring in hundreds more dollars for the film. The film will open in Japan on July 4th. Jolie’s top international markets remain to be Mexico, Russia, the U.K. and Brazil.
