Actress Maria Bello will be writing about her experiences in the industry and her struggles with being an openly gay actress. Bello has signed a deal to write her personal story in a memoir deal.
The Indy Channel reported that Bello first came out to the world in an article that was published in the Modern Love column for the New York Times back in early November.
She is going to express what it is like to be openly gay in the industry in Miracles and Madness. The novel will also feature how Bello and her current partner, Clare Munn, have adapted a more modern lifestyle with their blended family. Bello and Munn share custody of Bello's son that she shares with her ex-boyfriend, TV executive Dan McDermott.
Below released a statement about the novel and explains that to her and her family, "love is love."
"As my son said, 'Whatever - love is love.' I know there are many 'whatevers' out there and am thrilled that (publishers) Dey Street/Harper Collins is interested in opening up the conversation to a bigger audience - the conversation being that the only labels we have are the ones we give ourselves," explained Bello.
Entertainment Weekly added that the novel is set to come out in 2015.
