Maria Bello has been cast to star in a Lifetime made-for-TV movie, but this one will not be a dead celebrity biopic. Instead, this one is based on a Stephen King story and titled Big Driver.

The movie will be based on the King novella Full Dark, No Stars. In it, Bello will play mystery writer Tess Thorne, who tries to take a shortcut after a book signing, notes TheWrap. She winds up on a deserted road and her tire blows out at an unfortunate time. The next person to drive up is a serial killer, who leaves her for dead. But she’s still alive and planning her revenge.

Will Harris will play the killer. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Joan Jett and Olympia Dukakis will also star.

Big Driver will be filmed in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Ostar Productions is producing with Mikael Salomon directing and Richard Christian Matheson writing.

This is the second King TV project in the works this year. His Under the Dome is about to start its second season on CBS.

Big Driver will air this fall.

This news comes shortly after Bello signed a book deal. She was recently seen in Prisoners and the TV shows Prime Suspect and Touch.
