"I've never done a sequel to any of the movies that I've done and this is my first installment in the series. So, still not really a sequel for me. Just thought it was fun to do something different and I really wanted to work with Michael," according to the Associated Press.
Shia LaBeouf is not starring in the new film. Filmmakers were glad to comment on Wahlberg and the new cast members. Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura said that the film has a “whole new sense of energy and possibilities,” according to IGN.
NextMovie writer Scott Harris told MTV, “It probably does take a little focus away from Bumblebee and Starscream, but that’s a good thing. After three movies and dozens of robots in disguise, they have all started to blend together a little bit. Nobody is going to accuse Mark Wahlberg of being interchangeable. It gives the franchise a new focus.”
Transformers: Age of Extinction comes out of June 27.
