Pat Riley was fired up at the Miami Heat’s annual season ending press conference. For the first time since 2011, The Miami Heat ended there season without a championship. Riley is an executive who brought the big three together in the summer of 2010.
He made it clear to the press in attendance what should happen. How the big three should stick together and not run away from the challenge at hand.
"This stuff is hard. You've got to stay together if you've got the guts. You don't find the first door and run out of it. This is four years into this era, four Finals. It’s only been done three other years before and two championships,” said Riley, reported by Sun-Sentinel.
Riley also has made it clear he is not using the tactic of dropping championship rings on the table to recruit the trio back to South Beach. He says they have there own rings they can look to for proof.
"I don't think we've got to recruit Chris, Dwyane or LeBron," Riley said Thursday. "I'm not dropping rings on the table for those guys. They could drop their own,” said Riley according to ESPN.
The Miami Heat are going to have a very busy summer when July 1 roles around. That is the day free agency starts in the NBA. Riley is determined to keep the core group of players in Miami and retool for another title run next season. Riley knows James has the right to explore other options, but he wants James to return to continue what they have built in the past four years together.
