Miranda Kerr is trying to look on the bright side of things when it comes to her split from estranged husband Orlando Bloom, with whom she shares 3-year-old son Flynn.

“I always look for the best in every situation, no matter what it is. Even if it's something that's sad, upsetting or disappointing at the time, I think, 'There's a reason for this,’” she told The Edit. She continued, "We all have bad days and negative emotions. But I've realized it's important to sit with it and let it pass, and if it doesn't pass, choose a thought that will help it pass. Focus on what it is that you're grateful for. Having perspective is key."

Kerr and Bloom announced their split in October 2013 after three years of marriage. The model, who has recently become a certified health practitioner to help create her skincare line KORA Organics, said she’s “happiest” when she’s with her son.

Us Weekly reports the former Victoria’s Secret model admits that “privacy” is one of the most important things to her about being a mother.

Surprisingly, Kerr said she doesn’t identify with being a model but instead she’s really focused on her skincare line.

"From my first photoshoot at 14, I never saw myself as a model. If someone asks me what I do, I say, 'I have my own skincare line.' I don’t define myself as a model,” she said.
