New Balance has filed a lawsuit against German fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld over the design of his new sneakers.

In the civil complaint, New Balance believes that the only true difference between the design of Lagerfeld's sneakers and the company is that in place of an N, his shoes have a K, reports TMZ, who obtained a copy of the lawsuit.

The shoe company believes that since the shoes are nearly identical, it would create confusion for customers and New Balance says it isn't the only one to notice the similarity.

Apparently the complaint notes that a fashion blog even wrote an article that was titled, "Wait did Karl Lagerfeld just knock off New Balance sneakers?"

The company, who says they have used the design in question for nearly 40 years, want Lagerfeld to stop selling the shoes.

According to USA Today, the difference in price between the similarly-designed shoes appears to be the only main difference. Lagerfeld's shoes are selling for $360, while New Balance only charges $100.

The fashion designer has not yet publicly commented on the New Balance lawsuit.
