When the New York Rangers lost the Stanley Cup to the Los Angeles Kings, New York City mayor Bill de Blasio also lost.

.

Mayor de Blasio and LA Mayor Eric Garcetti made a bet in which the losing mayor would have to sing a famous song about the other’s city, either Frank Sinatra’s “New York, New York” or Randy Newman’s “ I Love L.A”, according to The Wall Street Journal.

On Monday night, Mayor de Blasio sang a verse with the help of New York City’s 52nd Street Project student chorus, on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

De Blasio also sent Kimmel Gray’s Papaya hot dogs from New York City, but, not surprisingly, Mayor Garcetti had his own LA hot dogs from a Pink’s, a popular LA spot.

He joked, “I’m going to stick with Pinks. They make those Gray’s Papaya hot dogs taste like a steaming bad of New York garbage.”

At the end of the video Mayor de Blasio told Garcetti that their ‘rivalry’ was not over and to keep practicing your Sinatra for next year.

The LA Kings won the Stanley Cup for the second time in three years, beating the Rangers 4-1 in the series.
