For the second time in three days, Manny Machado caused a benches-clearing altercation between the Baltimore Orioles and the Oakland Athletics.
With two outs in the bottom of the eighth, Athletics pitcher Fernando Abad threw two pitches low to Machado’s knees. On the second pitch, the third baseman took a late swing and the bat flew out of his hands past the third basemen. The benches immediately emptied.
