The recent drama surrounding who will be helming the latest Marvel property Ant Man is close to coming to a close. Peyton Reed is set to direct the upcoming Ant-Man which will star Paul Rudd.
Reed is known for directing Yes Man which stared JIm Carrey and grossed over $223.2 million worldwide. He also worked on popular comedies like Bring It On, The Break-Up and Down With Love.
Marvel made an announcement on their official website confirming that they have picked Reed to replace Edgar Wright, who was originally connected to the project for years.
Wright and Marvel released a joint statement explaining that even though Wright has been working on this project since 2006, the two decided to part ways because of " differences in their vision of the film,” they statement read.
After it was announced that Wright would be leaving the project due to creative difference, Marvel entered into negotiations with Adam McKay but he decided not to take the directing job. Even though McKay will not be directing the project he is still involved with contributing to the script, Variety reported.
