Prince William and wife Kate attended the service of commemoration honoring the veterans of World War II who returned to northern France to remember the Allied invasion.

People Magazine/a> said that the couple looked extremely happy to be at the event and that Kate was seen happily chatting to the servicemen while William bent to his knee to talk personally with one man particularly.

William even spoke at the service and said that the anniversary was about "my generation and younger whose connection to the events are largely through the history books."

E! News added that the couple looked stunning with William wearing his medals given to him by the Queen during the Gold and Diamond Jubilee Years.

Prince William ended his speech by saying It is vital that this sacrifice, and the reasons for this sacrifice, are never forgotten by our generations and generations to come.
