After being drafted by the Phoenix Suns and traded to the Boston Celtic’s organization in 2006, Rajon Rondo has become the stable of the historic franchise. He was apart of a championship team in 2008 that had Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, and Paul Pierce on it. He was the floor general during the big three years in Boston, and after each season his role became more valuable. Now he is the only premiere all-star with championship experience on the team.
Despite his successful career in Boston, he is looking forward to achieving even more with the franchise. Rondo is hopeful that the Celtic organization will make the proper moves in the off-season. He believes Danny Ainge will get things done and have the Celtics competing for an NBA title soon.
“Hopefully this summer we're going to make some big changes, get the ball rolling and get back to the Finals pretty soon. I know Danny Ainge is doing his job, and I'm going to go out every summer and do my job and get better," said Rondo, reported by Boston.com.
A name that has been linked in the Boston Celtics off-season plans is all-star big man Kevin Love. Love made a surprise visit to Boston and he had been spotted talking with Rondo at Fenway’s EMC Club. Rondo feels if the Celtics were able to get him, they would be a lot better than they are right now.
"I think we'd be a lot better if you add a guy like Kevin. He's a range-shooting 4, he's going to help on the glass -- obviously we haven't been the best on the glass the past couple years. But he'll do a better job in that aspect,” said Rondo, confirmed by ESPN.
