Horace Grant, a retired power forward that played for the Chicago Bulls during their first three-peat championship run in the early 1990’s, made a statement saying his old team would have defeated the current Miami Heat squad. Comparisons are being drawn because the Miami Heat could win their third straight championship just like the Bulls did. However, Grant does not believe the Heat would have had a chance of beating his old team. Grant let his opinion be known on WSCR-AM in Chicago.
"The Heat wouldn't have had a chance. We would have locked them up. We would have locked them up. Especially with the rules today, Michael would have had a field day,” said
Grant, according to ESPN.
This statement is in light of the NBA Finals starting on Thursday, June 5. The Miami Heat will be squaring off in a rematch against the San Antonio Spurs. However, no one knows who would actually win because there is not a time machine to determine which team would win, confirmed by CBS Sports.
Most basketball junkies are aware Grant was Michael Jordan’s teammate during a time when they were the premiere team in the NBA. Grant was a key contributor and an intense competitor. So his opinions come from a spirited place and it is around that time of year for basketball fans to get excited for the Finals.
