Robert Pattinson has had his fair share of wild media attention since his career took off after starring in Twilight back in 2008. He has come a long way from his days as Edward Cullen, starring in films directed by legendary figures such as David Cronenberg (Cosmopolis) and Werner Herzog (Queen of the Desert).

Pattinson is currently completing his press tour for his most recent post-apocalyptic action flick, The Rover. The film also stars Guy Pearce, as the two men wander Australia in search of revenge against Rey’s (Pattinson) brother.
In spite of his Twilight Saga past, Robert is currently garnering quite a bit of praise from both film critics and filmmakers alike. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, The Rover director David Michod said, “He came through with flying colors.”
Perhaps more complementary is Pearce’s take on Pattinson’s work ethic. “He came the closest of any actor to walking into the room with a beautiful, fully realized version of the character that was not dissimilar to mine. It was exhilarating because I could suddenly see the movie."
Robert himself took time to interview with The Huffington Post, speaking of what he looks for in a film and how he handles what the media makes of him. "I think lots of people want to do stuff that's relatable, and I want to do stuff that's unrelatable," he quipped. “I don't think I have particularly normal emotional reactions to things. So trying to play someone who is just a normal guy ... I don't really know how to do it."
The 28-year-old actor has since given up on trying to control what is said about him in the media. “It's really crazy. With me as well, it's the same stories again and again and again,” he laughed. “No matter what. I was trying to figure out a way to not be in tabloids anymore, and I just don't even know how to do it. I thought if you don't get photographed then they can't do anything. “
The Rover is in theaters now.
