During the Gerry Weber Open in Germany on Sunday, Roger Federer won the final against Colombian, Alejandro Falla. The final score was 7-6(2), 7-6 (3), giving Federer his seventh title. This wasn’t Federer’s first win over Falla, in fact, Federer has now won seven games out of the seven times the two have faced against each other.
Federer’s first win of the season didn’t happen here. In fact, he won Dubai’s title back in February and is now looking forward to a possible eighth title in the All England Club says Sky Sports.
The match between Falla and Federer was said to last one hour and 28 minutes with Falla leading the first half. Falla may have lost the title, but the 69th rank was the first Colombian to reach a grass-court tournament final according to Los Angeles Times. Out of Federer’s 12 years of attending the tournament, this was his ninth time in the final.
For the girls, Ana Ivanovic took home not only a 37th win but her third title of the year on the grass-court.
