Former Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker will be returning to the television screen playing a role that is the opposite of her famous character, Carrie Bradshaw.

The producers of the show True Detective have brought us a new detective story called Busted, E! News reports. Parker will be one of the lead stars of the show and the show is based on a book titled Busted: A Tale of Corruption and Betrayal in the City of Brotherly Love.

The story is about two reporters, Wendy Ruderman and Barbara Laker, who spent ten months investigating a Philadelphia scandal involving police corruption. The women wrote the book about their investigation.

Variety reported the series is being optioned by Sidney Kimmel Entertainment, with David Frankel as a director and Don Ross, who will be a writer for the series. The book in which the television series is based was released in March.

The show also serves as first time Sidney Kimmel Entertainment has done a project for the television screen.

Carla Hacken, who is the president of production for Sidney Kimmel Entertainment, will be an executive producer for the series and she had originally been given the book rights before she joined Sidney Kimmel and would then give the project to them. Hacken and Frankel have worked together before on the movie The Devil Wears Prada.

There is no word yet on who the other lead star will be.
