Nearly eleven months after Netflix gave America a surprise hit with its original series Orange is the New Black, it has returned with its much anticipated second season.
Orange is the New Black is a landmark series for Netflix, which, following Kevin Spacey's House of Cards and the resurrection of Arrested Development, gave the subscription streaming service three veritable hits and made it a major player in today's age of on-demand binge television watching.
Starring Taylor Schilling, the second season continues to tell the fish-out-of-water story, based on Piper Kerman's novel of the same name, of Piper Kerman's time in prison, the characters that come in and out of her life, as well as juggling her relationships with her ex-girlfriend (played by Laura Prepon) who's doing time in the same prison, and her fiancé (Jason Biggs) living in the outside world.
In what's become typical Netflix fashion, all 13 episodes of the season were released together today, giving fans cause to spend a weekend indoors.
