Selena Gomez will be free of her stalker for at least a month after a judge on Friday ordered that he undergo psychiatric treatment.
The bad news is that he could be out after only a month spent in the mental health facility, according to TMZ, who first broke the news, and he has shown a propensity to return to Gomez's California residence.
He has been arrested several times already for trespassing on her Calabasas property, notes Fox News. Cruz was found inside the pop singer's guest house twice and then after the second arrest spent two days in jail.
The second he was release, Cruz immediately went right back to Gomez's place and was arrested quite shortly afterwards.
TMZ notes that Cruz entered a no contest plea for felony stalking and the judge ordered that after completing 30 days at the mental health facility, he must then complete an additional 180 days of treatment there, but is no longer kept on lockdown.
In addition, he must also remain 200 yards away from Gomez and granted the singer a 10-year protective order from Cruz, though that's proved little deterrent before.
