Whitney Houson’s New Jersey home has been sold to a fan of the late singer for $1.5 million.
Matthew Krauthamer, a self-professed “big fan” of the “I Will Always Love You” singer bought the Mendham Township home, which is 12,561 square feet and sits on five acres.
“I’m very conscious of preserving what she created there,” he told NJ.com. “She had a lot of love and treated people very well. Her house was her family. Some of them lived there and some of them stayed there.”
The physician went on to call Houston “generous to so many people” in her lifetime. He also said he felt “lucky” to have been accepted to purchase the home after a bidding war ensued.
According to E! Online, Houston married her ex-husband Bobby Brown at the home in 1992.
The home is modeled from New Jersey’s Terminal C at Newark Liberty International Airport. It boasts five bedrooms, five bathrooms, a media room, tennis court and pool house.
Houston died at the age of 47 in 2012.
