Sidney Crosby won his second Hart Memorial Trophy, and third Ted Lindsay Award as the NHL’s most valuable player.
The Hart Memorial Trophy is voted on by members of the media, while the Lindsay Award is voted on by the members of the NHL Players association, according to USA Today.
His first Hart Trophy was when he was 19-years old and led the NHL in scoring. This year he received 128 of the 137 first place votes, beating out Anaheim Ducks captain Ryan Geltzlaf, according to ESPN.
In his acceptance speech for the Hart Trophy, Crosby told his teammates and family that he would not be where he is with out them.
“I appreciate all the sacrifices you’ve made to allow me to play the game I love every day,” he said.
Crosby was also very appreciative of the men he plays against, when he was honored for the Lindsay Award.
“Those are the guys that you compete against every night,” he said. “Knowing that and being selected, it’s an honor and a compliment, so I definitely appreciate it.”
Crosby won his second NHL scoring title last year with 36 goals and 58 assists for 104 points, beating the next closest player by 17 points.
