Too bad for Sting’s six children; they won’t be inheriting his $306 million fortune. In a recent interview, the Police frontman says his children’s work ethic is much more important to him than giving them money.
“I certainly don’t want to leave them trust funds that are albatrosses round their necks,” he told Daily Mail.
“They have to work. All my kids know that and they rarely ask me for anything, which I really respect and appreciate. Obviously, if they were in trouble I would help them, but I’ve never really had to do that. They have the work ethic that makes them want to succeed on their own merit.”
In addition, Sting, 62, thinks by the time he passes, there won’t be a lot of money left because he’s spending it quickly.
“There won’t be much money left because we are spending it!” he said.
Daily News reports Sting’s oldest son is 37 years old and his youngest is 18; he’s also a grandfather. “I’ve never hidden my age. I am a father and now a grandfather and I am proud of that,” he said.
He also gushed about his wife, Trudie Styler, who runs his “corporation” of his staff. He called her an “extraordinary, gifted woman” during the interview.
