A 26-year-old Survivor contestant, Caleb Bankston, who competed in last year's season of the hit reality TV show, "Survivor: Blood vs. Water", died tragically in a train accident Tuesday.

Bankston was working at his job at the Alabama Warrior Railway in Birmingham when the train he was on derailed and killed him, according to People.

Little else is known of the accident at the time, but news of Bankston's tragic premature death has already sent shockwaves through the social media community. Friends and followers of Bankston, as well as former Survivor contestants, have taken to Twitter to offer their condolences:

"Caleb was an amazing man and friend. One of the sweetest and most sincere humans I've ever come across. I am gutted by his loss. My thoughts and prayers are with his family," fellow contestant Aras Baskauskas stated in an interview with People.

Bankston competed in the special 27th edition of Survivor, "Survivor: Blood vs. Water" in 2013, in which former contestants competed alongside their loved ones, states MTV. Bankston appeared on the show with his fiancé Colton Cumbie from the season "Survivor: One World". Although Cumbie left the island after just seven days, Banskston was a fierce competitor, remaining on the island for 30 out of 39 days, and earning a respectable ninth place. Bankston was planning to marry Cumbie in October.

Bankston is the third Survivor contestant to pass away since the show's premiere, according to People. Contestant Jenn Lyon passed away in 2010 after a six-year battle with breast cancer, and original Survivor contestant BB Anderson died of brain cancer in 2013.

It is obvious from all the buzz over Bankston's death, that he will be sorely missed.
