Taye Diggs is glad to chat about his new television show called Murder in the First on TNT.

"There's something to be said for putting out in the universe that which you want to claim. It's happened to me three times," said Diggs, according to Associated Press.

Murder in the First is both a cop show and a police drama, co-created by veteran Steven Bochco. Ten episodes have been ordered by the new series. In the series, investigators attempt to dissect elements of a crime. Diggs plays San Francisco homicide detective, Terry English. Diggs co-stars with Hildy Mulligan played by Kathleen Robertson. Mulligan plays a divorced mother in the series, according to the Los Angeles Times. The television show also features Richard Schiff, Nicole Ari Parker, James Cromwell, and Steven Weber.

Bochco has previously produced Murder One which aired on ABC before suffering from low ratings. Hopefully, this won’t be true for Murder in the First which could be as popular as Bochco’s Hill Street Blues, LA Law, and NYPD Blue.

Murder in the First debuts on Monday at 10PM on TNT.
