Taylor Swift may be famous for penning number one hits about love and heartbreak, but it seems as though the country superstar is garnering attention for another reason.

The 24-year-old “I Knew You Were Trouble” singer has been reaching out to her fans via Instagram, The Washington Post reports. The site is calling it the “modern day version of a fan letter,” with Swift’s comments ranging from gracious to witty to inspiring. And while skeptics might shake their heads and question if Swift is actually the one replying to fans’ posts, the site confirms that Swift’s Instagram is one hundred percent her. The Washington Post confirmed this by speaking with one of her representatives.

Of course, The Washington Post is not the only one taking notice. Buzz Feed also commented on Swift’s recent Instagram reply spree, calling her “appreciative” and “supportive.” Included in their article were screenshots of some of Swift’s comments, highlighting her ability to poke fun at paparazzi shots of herself as well as gush over pictures of fans and their pets both sporting her concert merchandise. But what’s most impressive is the advice Swift offers to fans that are going through difficult times.

“I’d like to tell you it gets better and people stop hurting each other, I can’t,” says Swift in a screenshot obtained by Glamour. “But I can tell you that if you hang in there and don’t let them make you bitter or defeated, it will get easier for you to deal with.” Glamour notes that Swift’s behavior is “kind of unbelievable for a celebrity.”

Swift just wrapped the final leg of the Red tour in Singapore, WWGP reports. She is currently working on her fifth album.
