Tragic news comes as the bodies of the three missing Israeli teens have been found. They were kidnapped in the West Bank just weeks ago and were found near Hebron.
According to ABC News, the teens, Naftali Frenkel, Gilad Shaar, and Eyal Yifrach were abducted on June 12. The Palestinian militant group Hamas denied having any part of the kidnapping, although officials in both Israel and Palestine have agreed the kidnappings were possibly done by abductors affiliated with Hamas, but did not have orders to do the kidnapping.
A briefing by the Israeli Defense Force is expected and there is was a cabinet meeting put together after news broke.
Frenkel had dual citizenship in both the US and Israel, and his family was from the city of Brooklyn in New York.
Many countries were outraged at the kidnappings, and vigils were held throughout the United States, Fox News reported.
When Press Secretary Josh Earnest heard the news, he said, “We obviously condemn in the strongest possible term, violence that takes the lives of innocent civilians. But I don’t want to react further without having a chance to take a look at that report myself.”
