The Charlotte Hornets were the first team to present the leagues logo on the back of their jerseys

The Charlotte Hornets were the first team to present their new uniforms with the NBA logo on the back of it. The NBA logo is known for being on the front of NBA jerseys. The logo is a player dribbling a basketball, and that basketball player is legend Jerry West. Next season every team in the league will have the logo on the back of their jerseys.

The NBA said the change was a stylistic move, according to ESPN.

This is a turning point for the NBA. The realistic direction NBA jerseys are going towards is to have ads on the front of them. Back in March, the new commissioner of the NBA Adam Silver was asked about ads on jersesys. He had a very distinct answer. Silver expects the change to happen in the future.

"I think it's inevitable. It just creates that much more of an opportunity for our marketing partners to get that much closer to our fans and to our players. It gives us an opportunity just to have deeper integration when it comes to those forms of sponsorship," said Silver, reported by CBS Sports.

The new looked Charlotte Hornets recently changed their team name after being the Bobcats since 2004. Putting their new jerseys on display was a good move to promote the new direction the organization plans on going in. The teams majority owner is NBA icon Michael Jordan.
