According to E! News, the segment came after Stewart reported on the decision by James Madison University on the punishment three male students should get for sexual assault and harassment in 2013 towards a female student.
The school reportedly punished the students, but it was expulsion “upon graduation.” Stewart sarcastically began to praise the school before realizing exactly what the argument was.
Correspondents Jessica Williams and Jordan Klepper then did their segment with 13 tips for guys and girls on how to avoid sexual assault.
The Wire reported there were 55 other institutions facing investigation for mishandling cases of rape and sexual assault.
Stewart reportedly said in his program, “Clearly universities are not making their campuses safe for women.”
Williams and Klepper then went into their segment, with Keppler using plenty of the stereotypical male advice, like not falling asleep on the couch since someone might draw a phallic object on their face, with Williams chiming in on what girls faced instead.
Klepper asked Williams at the end, “You’re telling me that women just spend their whole day navigating an obstacle course of sexual menace?”
