From 1969 to 1974, Ann B. Davis played the loveable housekeeper Alice Nelson on The Brady Bunch. Many of us who were born after the show aired fell in love with the Brady’s and Alice on channels such as Nick at Night and TV Land. Alice was the housekeeper for Mike and Carol Brady, who had three kids between each of them and came together to, well, form a family.
Most of Davis’ later roles included future Brady family television series’ as well as an appearance in The Brady Bunch Movie in 1991. Today, it was announced Davis had passed away after a fall in her home. She leaves behind the memories of her time on The Brady Bunch, where she provided humor and a friend to the kids she helped watch over.

In this clip, Alice is tidying up the backyard around a dunking booth. She climbs on top in order to get some clothes that were left on top. As she is sitting on the seat, she has a conversation with Marcia and Greg Brady, before she accidentally pulls the lever and finds herself in the water.

Alice is feeling unneeded, so she decides it is best to resign. In this clip, she makes up a story about a sick aunt as her reason for leaving,

In this clip, Alica and three of the Brady kids, Marcia, Cindy, and Bobby, are trying to get signatures for a petition to save a local park. However, when Cindy and Bobby are unsuccessful, Alice decides to charm the man who turned them down.

Alice has agreed to help Jan learn how to bandage a patient. She doesn’t count on Jan bandaging her up so that her arms are completely covered as well. Unfortunately, the phone rings while she is tied up and can’t use her hands to answer.

The Brady kids are helping Alice learn to ski in the backyard using a ramp and straw.

5. Resigning
Alice has gotten a call to take over a dress shop at the urging of her Uncle and she informs Carole that she will be leaving. Alice expresses she is only doing this because it’s family.

Instead of the job at the dress shop, Alice is now working as a waitress. The kids all come down and apologize to her, letting her know they want her back. Alice happily agrees, leaving with them while still wearing her waitress uniform.

The Brady boys are heartbroken because Greg’s mouse, Myron, was let out of his cage and when Alice saw it, she called an exterminator, not realizing it was Greg’s mouse. She is very regretful, at least until they discover Myron is not exterminated after all.

Alice has an important letter coming and she is desperate to find it. Cindy knows where it is, but having been previously warned about tattling, she is reluctant to talk about where the letter went.

In order to prevent Alice from leaving to go care for a sick aunt, as seen in an earlier clip, the entire family comes up with different tasks that they need her for. Alice truly thinks they really are having a hard time, at least until the boys get mud on their dad. But it works and she knows her home is with the Brady’s.
