ABC News reported his rep, Lewis Kay, as saying that Morgan’s responsiveness while still in critical condition is “an incredibly encouraging sign.”

The crash left Morgan with a broken leg, femur, nose, and ribs.

Morgan’s limo driver reportedly could hear Morgan yelling for help and even when he tried to reach individuals in the limo, he was not able to get to them.

According to Reuters, the individual killed in the crash was comedian James McNair. Morgan’s spokesman said in a statement Morgan is expected to stay in the hospital for a period of several weeks.

The crash occurred after a performance the comedians put on Saturday. The driver of the truck that caused the crash has since been charged with “death by auto and four counts of assault by auto,” Reuters reported. He has since been let out on bail set at $50,000.

Morgan’s family remains by his side and are “overwhelmed” at the amount of love that has come from his fans.
