FX and FXX have said that they still hope to work with comedian and actor Tracy Morgan, who was critically injured in a car accident Saturday morning. The network had ordered a new series starring the former 30 Rock star, which was supposed to begin in January.

In a statement to Variety and other Hollywood trades, FXX said that it still plans on developing the series, but it is not more important than Morgan’s recovery. When he can work again, the show will be waiting for him.

“The only thing we are concerned with is the health and recovery of Tracy Morgan and the victims of this tragic accident,” FX Networks and FX Productions said in a joint statement. “We will support Tracy and his family in every way possible throughout his recovery. At the point when Tracy has recovered and decides that he is ready to go back to work, his show will be waiting for him. Right now our thoughts and prayers remain with Tracy, the other victims of the accident, and their families.”

The series was created by Rob McElhenney (It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia), who will executive produce with Charlie Day, Glenn Howerton and Luvh Rakhe. It is an FX Productions project and was ordered back in August.

Morgan was critically injured in a car accident on the New Jersey Turnpike on his way back to New York. He is expected to spend several weeks in the hospital, his representative said.
