The true death of True Blood is right around the corner; however, there are ten brand new episodes that will either make or break the entire series. Now, I have been a die-hard True Blood fan since day one, but even I can admit the last couple seasons have lost its power. For one, there are too many characters, and from too many characters comes too many plot lines (does anyone really still care about the werewolves?) There has been a lack of a central story and instead so many storylines you don’t know which you care less about more.
But don’t lose hope just yet! For True Blood’s seventh and final season, showrunner Brian Buckner promised the show would return to its original core conflict of humans vs. vampires. Judging from spoilers surfacing around the web, it looks like Buckner is holding true to that promise – and throwing us some sexy love scenes! Take a look at 5 confirmed spoilers and tell us your thoughts on the upcoming season.
ERIC DID NOT DIE NAKED AND BEAUTIFUL ON TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN
Please – take your sigh of relief. God knows I took several. Eric is 100% not dead, and was even confirmed by Buckner as a series regular.
Still don’t believe me? Buckner said to TV Line, "I can tell you that Alexander Skarsgard is going to be a part of the next season of ‘True Blood.’ He will be a series regular.”
He also added that Pam might be the one to find him. Considering episode 2 is titled “I Found You,” I’m guessing she is the one to find him in the episode. Where she finds him is another question.
ERIC GETS A NEW LOVE INTEREST
Sorry Sooric (Sookie/Eric) fans, but it looks like your favorite Viking vamp is getting a new love interest this season - but she sounds pretty cool, if you ask me.
Played by gorgeous actress Gabriella Wright, Slyvie speaks fluent French and will make her first appearance in episode 3.
How Slyvie’s appearance will affect Eric’s relationship with Pam will be another question, since we all know Pam gets overly possessive of Eric.
Also, could this mean there is no more hope for another Sooric hookup?
THERE WILL BE A STEAMY HOMOSEXUAL SEX SCENE BETWEEN TWO STRAIGHT CHARACTERS
The suspense! TV Line’s Michael Ausiello quoted this sex scene to be even juicer than the time Bill crawled out of his dirty grave to have passionate sex with Sookie amidst the graveyard. I mean, I have to see it to believe it, but what we do know for certain is that this scene will take place between two straight characters, and strings will be attached.
Since we know that vampires are required to have a monogamous feeding relationship with a human, we can rule out Bill and Eric… Would Jason and Eric be too much to ask?
Good news is we won’t have to wait too long. It’s slated to happen in episode 2!
THE ‘ZOMBIES’ ARE NOT ACTUAL ZOMBIES
So glad to know that True Blood isn’t crossing over into more supernatural territory – the werewolves, werepanths, shifters, and witches were about all I could take.
Buckner confirmed that these Hep-V infected vampires will be the major threat to Sookie and the rest of Bon Temps. Bucker describes them as weaker vampires driven to drink human blood in larger quantities and more frequently. He makes it clear that they are NOT zombies because they still possess mental capacity.
ONE CHARACTER WE KNOW AND LOVE WILL BE TAKEN DOWN RIGHT AWAY
We have to remember that it is the last season of the show, which means EVERYONE is at risk. No one is safe. (Ok, maybe except for Sookie). During the first episode of the season, one of Bon Temps’ long-time residents is taken down in a fight between the Hep-V vampires and the vampires/people of Bon Temps. Whether or not they are off the show for good is another question that we will just have to wait to find out.
If I can just overanalyze for a minute, it sounds like a Bon Temps long-time resident would be human – I’m thinking Arlene? But hasn’t she had enough tragedy in her life with Terry’s death? Perhaps Sam? Remember, he’s the mayor now, so it might make sense that the Hep-V vamps would be after him…
Either way, this moment is supposed to leave us speechless.
