Authorities have confirmed that the suspected gunman and one student were killed in a shooting at an Oregon high school.

According to the Associated Press, police have said that one student and the shooter are dead following Tuesday’s shooting at Reynolds High School.

The Oregon State Police have not yet revealed the victim and shooter’s age or identities.

Multnomah County sheriff's office said that there were reports of shots fired around 8 a.m. (11 a.m. ET) at the school in Troutdale. Students were evacuated from the building and reunited with their parents at a nearby location.

CNN noted that Sue Strickland of the Troutdale Police Department said that some injuries were reported, but it was unclear how many at this time.
A special education teacher is thought to be among the injured.

Fire trucks were on the scene and Swat officers were also called to the school to help secure the area.

The public high school consists of grades 9-12 and has over 2800 students enrolled.
