Eli Wallach, the character actor who starred in dozens of movies and Broadway plays and the classic film, “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.” Wallach was 98.

Wallach died in New York of natural causes. "The best way to honor him is to put on one of his movies," Peter Wallach said, according to the Associated Press. "Put on Baby Doll or Magnificent Seven. Those live forever."

Wallach also worked in TV, including roles on Playhouse 90 (1958-1959), Batman(1967), and Kojak (1975), according to USA Today.

Wallach was a charter member of the Actors Studio with his wife, Anne Jackson. Wallach appeared with his wife on stage and won a Tony Award for his supporting role in the Tennessee Williams’ The Rose Tattoo in 1951.

Although his most popular role was as Tuco in The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, the Sergio Leone spaghetti Western, Wallach also acted in The Misfits (1961), an Arthur Miller-written film that starred Marilyn Monroe and Clark Gable, Lord Jim (1964) with Peter O'Toole, and The Godfather III (1990).

Jackson had two daughters, Roberta and Katherine.
