Vincent D'Onofrio was cast to play an antagonist in the upcoming Marvel superhero series Daredevil from Netflix.

According to Marvel.com, the Law & Order: Criminal Intent actor will play Wilson Fisk, who is a businessman who runs up against Matt Murdock as he looks towards Hell's Kitchen in the 13-episode series.

Marvel's Head of Television Jeph Loeb said, "We're incredibly proud to have an actor with the gravitas and versatility of Vincent joining 'Marvel's Daredevil' in such an integral role." Loeb added, "Wilson Frisk is an iconic villain whose cunning and power make him the dangerous equal of our hero."

D'Onofrio will star opposite Stardust actor Charlie Cox who was cast to play blind attorney Mudock, aka Daredevil. He joined the cast just as showrunner Drew Goddard stepped back from the heading the series.

Steven S. DeKnight stepped in to replace Goddard, who will remain on board to executive produce, and who wrote the first episodes for the series. DeKnight and Loeb are also on to exec produce.
