Whoopi Goldberg is the last woman standing as the lone host of The View after the surprise exit of co-hosts Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy on Thursday.
Earlier we reported on Sherri Shepherd’s departure from the show saying that Jenny McCarthy would be likely to follow. These predictions were confirmed tonight, when McCarthy tweeted “If Sherri goes, I go too.”
If Sherri goes... I go too. #sisters

My View will be changing too. As will with many hard working folks. Thanks to everyone at the show for your dedication and an amazing year.

An ABC spokeswoman told The New York Daily News that "The View will be moving in an exciting new direction next season and ABC has made decisions to evolve the show creatively.”
This is just the latest development in a series of departures to befall The View in the last year. Jenny McCarthy joined the show in July as a replacement for Elisabeth Hassleback who was unable to connect with viewers. Five months prior to Hasselback’s exit, longtime co-host Joy Behar left the show. Most recently, creator co-host Barbara Walters retired the show although she remained on as executive producer.
