Lifetime will air out a new television movie in 2015 on the late singer Whitney Houston.

Yaya DaCosta (above), 31, has the leading role of television biopic and will play the pop star music queen, Whitney Houston, according to TVLine. We first saw DaCosta on "America’s Next Top Model", yet she did not become America’s next top model. But instead she became an incredible actress taking both major and minor roles in “Ugly Betty, “All My Children”, “House” and Lee Daniels’ recent movie “The Butler.”

Angela Basset, a well-known American actress, will be directing Houston’s biopic and Larry Sanitsky will be the executive producer of Lifetime original “Whitney Houston” movie. According to a press release, Basset feels that it is an obligation to tell Whitney and Bobby’s story, “I have such regard for both Whitney’s and Bobby’s amazing talents and accomplishments; and I feel a responsibility in the telling of their story,” she said. “Their humanity and bond fascinates us all. I’m beyond excited to have this opportunity to go behind the camera and into their world.”

The Biopic is written by Shem Bitterman and will touch based on Houston’s explosive relationship with singer Bobby Brown, to the success of her music.

Whitney Houston was found dead in her bathtub of her Beverly Hotel room on February 11, 2012. She was 48 years old.
