While Taryn Manning is famous for playing a prisoner on the Netflix smash hit show Orange is the New Black, she remains on the other side of the law as she has officially issued a restraining order against an ex-friend.

According to NY Post Page Six, the actress pressed charges against a former friend who has reportedly stalked and “barraged her with emails and texts” from April through July.

Jeanine Heller was reportedly arraigned Wednesday in Manhattan Criminal Court on a misdemeanor for sending Manning an alarming number of messages over phone and the web. Fox News reports that the restraining order prohibits Heller from contacting Manning or her family, including her pet dog.

Judge Lisa Sokoloff released Heller without bail, but not before warning her of the repercussions of violating the restraining order. “The last person who violated my orders of protection is now in jail,” said Sokoloff. Heller’s next court date is scheduled for August 6.

Manning is currently filming season 3 of Orange is the New Black in the New York area. The actress plays Tiffany “Pennsatucky” Doggett, a homophobic born-again Christian attempting to survive her sentence in a women’s prison.
