While it has been months since former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez was charged with the murder of Odin Lloyd in June 2013, that was apparently not enough time for the Florida Gators to change their 2014 calendar. Now that July is here, Gators fans are finally finding out that Hernandez was picked as Mr. July.
The image of the calendar, which is circulating on social media, shows the former Gators star carrying a football during a game. The University of Florida only told the Associated Press that the calendar got a stamp of approval months before Hernandez was first charged.
According to CBS Sports, Hernandez also appears in a Patriots 2014 calendar, which was being sold on Target.com and made by Turner Licensing (which also made the Gators calendar). That product, along with the Gators one, was taken off Target.com.
Hernandez is now facing three murder charges. In addition to the murder of Lloyd, he is accused of killing two men in Boston in 2012. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
