Andre Johnson was present at the Houston Texans facility on Friday, the day before they open their training camp, after skipping out on the Texans off-season workout and practice plan.
This was an abrupt change from where Johnson was just
two weeks ago when he said he was not sure he would play for the Texans this season.
According to NFL.com, the Texans where not surprised that Johnson would show up to training camp, as he passed a team physical earlier in the week.
Johnson has already lost a $1 million bonus for not showing up to the organized team activities in the off-season. NFL Insider Ian Rapoport reported that Johnson did not receive any money for showing up to training camp.
ESPN reports that Johnson has been in contact with the Texans new head coach Bill O’Brien and that their relationship may have led to Johnson reporting to training camp.
Johnson has been on the Texans since 2003 when he was drafted by the team third overall. He is the Texans all-time leader in receptions with 927, receiving yards with 12,661 and receiving touchdowns with 61.
